Everything you need to know about our 50-foot climbing wall, rappelling stations, free-fall experience, and flight lines all in one towering structure.
The Adventure Tower at The EDGE is a 50-foot multi-activity structure that packs an incredible variety of thrills into a single location. Unlike a traditional climbing gym or ropes course, the tower combines several distinct experiences: rock climbing with multiple route difficulties, controlled rappelling, a heart-stopping free-fall drop, and flight lines that send you soaring away from the tower at speed. Here is everything you need to know to make the most of your tower experience.
The climbing wall is the centerpiece of the tower and features multiple routes graded from beginner to advanced. The easier routes on the left side use larger holds with more frequent resting positions, making them accessible to climbers as young as age 5 who meet the 50-pound weight requirement. The moderate routes in the center require more technique and upper body strength, with smaller holds and longer reaches between them. The advanced routes on the right side will challenge even experienced gym climbers with overhanging sections, crimpy holds, and dynamic moves.

Auto-belay systems on all routes mean you do not need a partner or climbing experience to give it a try. The device automatically takes up slack as you climb and lowers you gently if you fall or when you reach the top. This makes the climbing wall perfect for solo visitors or groups where not everyone wants to climb at the same time. Simply clip in, climb as high as you feel comfortable, and let go when you are ready to come down.

The free-fall experience is the tower's most thrilling element. After climbing to the top platform, you step to the edge and simply lean forward into space. A controlled descent device catches you after a brief moment of genuine free-fall, then lowers you smoothly to the ground. The initial sensation of stepping off the platform is intense, triggering your body's natural flight response before the device engages. Many visitors describe it as the single most exciting moment of their EDGE visit, and most want to do it again immediately after landing.
Rappelling stations offer a different flavor of descent. Instead of the sudden drop of the free-fall, rappelling lets you control your own speed as you walk backward down the tower face. Guides teach you the proper technique before your first descent: lean back into your harness, keep your feet flat against the wall, and release rope through your device to control your speed. It is an empowering skill that builds confidence for anyone interested in outdoor climbing or mountaineering.

The flight lines launch you from the tower on a diagonal zip to a landing zone away from the structure. The sensation is different from the main zipline tour because you start from a standing position on a high platform rather than a seated launch. The initial step off the platform provides a brief stomach-dropping moment before the line catches you and you glide smoothly to the landing. It is a quick but memorable experience that combines the height exposure of the tower with the flying sensation of a zipline.
For those planning a tower visit, the recommended strategy is to start with climbing while your arms are fresh, work your way from easier to harder routes, then finish with the descent experiences. Most visitors spend 60 to 90 minutes at the tower, but there is no time limit on your session. You can do as many climbs, falls, and flights as you want. The tower is included in the Play and Plunge and Zip, Play and Plunge packages, offering significant savings compared to individual activity tickets.
