The EDGE Sky Trek is not your average ropes course. Learn what makes our 110-element aerial adventure unlike anything else in the Denver area.
If you have done a traditional ropes course before, you might think you know what to expect from Sky Trek at The EDGE. While both activities involve navigating obstacles at height, the similarities end there. Sky Trek represents a new generation of aerial adventure that prioritizes freedom, variety, and personal challenge in ways that traditional courses simply cannot match.
Traditional ropes courses typically follow a fixed linear path. You clip in at the beginning, navigate a set sequence of obstacles, and clip out at the end. There is usually one route, one difficulty level, and very little choice in how you experience the course. Sky Trek, by contrast, features 110 different elements spread across four levels and multiple paths. You choose your own route, skip elements that do not interest you, and revisit favorites as many times as you like within your session window.

The safety system is another major differentiator. Traditional courses often require participants to manually clip and unclip carabiners at each transition point, which creates both a safety risk and a mental burden that takes away from the fun. Sky Trek uses the CLiC-iT continuous belay system, which means once you are clipped in, you stay safely connected for the entire experience. The system is impossible to accidentally disconnect, allowing you to focus entirely on the challenge ahead rather than worrying about your safety equipment.

Difficulty variety is where Sky Trek truly shines. The course uses a ski-resort style rating system with green, blue, and black-diamond elements. Green elements are accessible to beginners and younger adventurers, offering gentle challenges that build confidence. Blue elements require more balance, strength, and problem-solving. Black-diamond elements will test even experienced athletes with demanding physical and mental challenges. This means a group with widely varying fitness and comfort levels can all enjoy the course simultaneously, each at their own pace and difficulty preference.
Finally, the time structure is different. Most traditional courses are guided experiences lasting 60 to 90 minutes with a fixed group moving together. Sky Trek sessions give you up to four hours of access to explore at your own pace. Guides are stationed on each level to provide assistance and encouragement, but you are free to take breaks, cheer on friends from platforms, or simply enjoy the views of the Colorado mountains between challenges. It is less of a structured activity and more of an aerial playground for all ages.
